The Narmada College of Management (NCM) formally inaugurated its new Certificate Course on Labour Laws & Labour Codes in a ceremony held on September 22, 2025. The course, which spans from September 2025 to January 2026, is designed to cover the legal framework of employment and industrial relations, worker’s rights and the new labour codes. The event was attended by the In-charge Director, faculty members, Chief Guest, and HR Specialization students of Semester 3 enrolled in the course

The inaugural ceremony commenced with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing the commencement of a new academic journey.
Dr. Rashmi Ghamawala (Sr. Faculty HR and Course Coordinator) warmly welcomed the Chief Guest, In-charge Director, faculty members, and the audience. She delivered the introductory address and anchored the event, highlighting the importance of labour law education and providing an insightful overview of the course objectives, which include understanding the fundamentals of labour laws in India and analyzing recent amendments.


The In-charge Director, Dr. Chetna Makwana, addressed the students, motivating them on the significance of joining the course. She emphasized that the certification is essential for aspiring professionals in HR, legal, and compliance fields.


Prof. Rakhi Thakkar (Faculty HR & Placement Coordinator and Course Coordinator) elaborated on the comprehensive course structure. She detailed the syllabus, which covers Major Labour Laws (including the Employees’ Provident Funds Act, ESI Act and Workmen Compensation Act). Prof. Thakkar then introduced the Chief Guest, Shri Kamal Naik, inviting him to share his wisdom with the enrolled students.


The highlight of the event was the address by the Chief Guest, Shri Kamal Naik (Retired AVP HR, DCM Shriram Ltd.). Shri Naik provided strong motivation to the students, stressing the practical value of expertise in labour laws and codes in their future careers. He spoke on the critical significance of the new labour codes, the evolving legal environment, and the practical implications of these changes for both employers and professionals in maintaining industrial relations.

Prof. Rakesh Panchal apprised the students about the career opportunities available in industries after an understanding of laws. He also talked about the recruiters coming to the campus who look for skilled professionals who have knowledge about regulatory compliance.


The inauguration successfully set the stage for rigorous learning, connecting academic concepts with industry reality. The ceremony instilled confidence and motivation in the enrolled students, reinforcing the value of expertise in the legal aspects of human resource management. The session successfully concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks to all dignitaries, faculty and participants for their presence and contributions.
