 INTRODUCTION:
 To achieve corporate success, all executives must understand various aspects of accounting and financial management, so that they are more effective in their roles, irrespective of the fact that they perform in diverse functions. Managerial roles are increasingly getting cross functional and interdependent. Financial impact of any managerial decision‐making is all pervasive, with the need for a non‐finance manager to assess the impact of his functional decisions made on the top line (Sales) and the bottom line (Profits), becoming indispensable. Financial Statements are the interface provided by the organization to share information and communicate with both people inside and outside the organization. Interpreting and analyzing relevant financial information in decision making contexts is important for every functional manager to contribute effectively to the growth and success of their organization.
 OBJECTIVES:
 This programme will guide the participants through concepts required to enable them to process financial information generated by organizations in an intelligent manner. This facilitates better managerial decision making by interpreting that financial information, as every managerial decision has a certain financial implication. With increasing complexity in the business environment, competing profitably requires continued efforts and apt decision-making competencies by business managers across functions. Which of one’s products or services is most profitable would for example make the managers more cost conscious and also improve the quality of their future decisions. So objective is to appraise participants of the basic concepts of financial management such as time value of money, risk return trade off and to impart knowledge on major financial decisions such as financing decision, investment decision etc.

The program intends to cover comprehensive financial, management and cost accounting concepts from a managerial perspective to facilitate intelligent decision making.

  5. Basics of cost and Costing and Management Accounting including CVP Analysis: Marginal Costing, Variance Analysis
  6. Brief about Derivatives: Derivatives for the hedging of price Risk etc.
This MDP is specially designed for professionals without a finance background who are involved in decision-making, budgeting and *cost management roles. It aims to enhance their understanding of essential financial concepts and tools for effective business performance.

Dr. Chetna R Makwana is a PhD (Management, Behavioual Finance), MBA (Financial Management), FDP (IIMA), and CS (Inter) qualified. she also has multiple certifications in area of management and Finance from IIMA., IIMK, SMF, IIFT etc. she is certified for Behavioral finance from Duke University. She is IIMA alumni (FDP). She is certified for finance for Non-finance from Rice University (USA).
Areas of Specialization: Corporate Finance, Investment Management, Security Analysis and Portfolio Management, Behavioural Finance, Corporate Valuation, Financial Derivatives, strategic management etc.
She has over 21 years of experience in Academics as well as industry, Research, Corporate training and investor training. She has done more than nine FDP from various IIMs. She has conducted numerous training programme & MDPs on “Finance for Non-Finance professionals” for senior executives and head of the departments of various industries. She has worked with many organizations of repute like industries, CED, EDII, ICAI, SEBI, and AMC etc.
