The seminar aimed to help HR professionals navigate the recently implemented labour codes. The seminar was led by Shri Rajubhai Pathak, a veteran IR adviser to many corporates across the country.
Shri Rajubhai Pathak shared insights into the 4 new Labour Codes, which are set to revolutionize the Indian labour landscape. The codes include the Code on Wages, 2019, which consolidates and amends laws related to payment of wages, bonuses, and gratuity; The Industrial Relations Code, 2020, which aims to promote ease of doing business and industrial development; The Code on Social Security, 2020, which extends social security benefits to workers; and the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020, which consolidates and amends laws related to occupational safety, health, and working conditions.
The seminar provided HR professionals with a comprehensive understanding of the new labour codes, including their key features and critical compliances. Shri Pathak highlighted the importance of understanding the codes’ provisions, such as the introduction of a new definition of “Wages” changes in the calculation of gratuity, and the requirement for establishments to register under the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code.
The event benefited HR professionals, labour law consultants and corporate executives responsible for HR and compliance functions.
The seminar offered a platform for attendees to gain insights into the new labour codes, understand the critical compliances required and learn from an experienced IR adviser. It also provided an opportunity for networking with peers and industry experts to share best practices and challenges.
