On August 9, 2024, Narmada College of Management organized an enlightening session under the HR Skill Council, led by the esteemed expert Shri Vivek Patvardhan.
The seminar, attended by over a hundred participants including students, faculty and industry professionals, provided valuable insights into the causes of conflict, its resolution strategies and the significance of virtues in life.
Key Highlights:
The seminar commenced with a welcome address by Shri P H Shah Sir, Director, NEST followed by an introduction of the guests, Shri Vivek Patvardhan and Shri Himanshu Bhatt, highlighting their extensive experience and contributions to the field of management respectively.
Shri Patvardhan Sir began by discussing the root causes of conflict and emphasizing the importance of recognizing underlying issues. He provided insights into different types of conflicts and their impact on personal and professional relationships. He discussed the cardinal virtues of courage, prudence, temperance, and justice. He emphasized investing in primary greatness, which encompasses personal integrity, work ethic, treatment of others, and motives (one’s character). He also emphasized the importance of clarity of role, responsibilities, building consensus, and empathetic listening.
Conflict Resolution Strategies:
The session covered conflict resolution strategies, introducing participants to various approaches for managing and resolving conflicts. Shri Patvardhan Sir highlighted the importance of a collaborative approach where all parties work together to find mutually beneficial solutions.
