- Key Themes Addressed by the Seminar
The discussion centered on several critical pillars of the IKS initiative:
- Andragogical Challenges: Discussing the shift from Western-centric teaching models to those rooted in Bharatiya Jñāna Paramparā (Indian Knowledge Tradition).
- Curriculum Integration: Identifying specific modules in Management (such as ethics, leadership, and sustainability) where IKS can provide a unique competitive edge.
- Holistic Development: Emphasizing the development of “thought over content,” ensuring students develop a diverse mindset based on indigenous cognitive frameworks.
- Institutional Impact
The involvement of NCM faculty in this seminar organized by their sister concern, Narmada College of Science and Commerce, highlights a collaborative campus-wide effort to pioneer IKS.
“Integrating IKS is not merely about reviving the past; it is about providing contemporary solutions to modern problems using time-tested Indian frameworks.” — Reflective of the seminar’s consensus.
Conclusion
The participation of the five faculty members underscores NCM’s commitment to being at the forefront of educational reform. By engaging with the challenges and prospects of IKS, the faculty is well-prepared to transition these insights into the classroom, fostering a generation of management professionals who are globally competent yet locally rooted.
