OVERVIEW

India, as one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies, presents a fascinating study in global trade and economic development. To understand how the country engages with the world economically, it’s essential to explore three interlinked concepts: Exports, Imports, and Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Exports play a crucial role in earning foreign exchange and increasing national income.

India’s foreign trade performance over the last three fiscal years reflects both resilience and recalibration amid global headwinds. India's total exports (merchandise and services combined) reached a record high of US$824.9 billion in the fiscal year 2024-25, a 6.01% increase compared to the previous year. Services exports were a significant driver, reaching a historic US$387.5 billion, up 13.6% from the previous year. Exports of goods and services (% of GDP) in India was reported at 22.6% in fiscal year 2024-2025.

India’s dynamic and globally integrated trade environment demands professionals who are not only well-versed in theory but also in the intricate workings of international commerce. The Certificate Programme on EXIM Procedures and Documentation is designed to bridge the gap between academic understanding and practical execution in the field of international trade. Export and Import (EXIM) operations are the lifeblood of global business. They involve a complex web of regulations, logistics, compliance, and documentation. In today’s competitive economy, mastering these elements isn’t just beneficial—it’s essential.
