FLAIR 2026 Intra-College Competition

Introduction
Narmada College of Management organized FLAIR 2026, an intra-college competition based on the theme “Bharat 2047”, on 19 September 2026. The event was designed to provide students with a platform to express their ideas, demonstrate creativity, develop communication skills, participate in intellectual discussions, and enhance their knowledge of Indian business, economy, technology, and India’s future.
The theme “Bharat 2047” focused on India’s journey towards the centenary of independence and encouraged students to think about the country’s future in terms of technology, entrepreneurship, education, sustainability, innovation, skills, and social development.
The competition consisted of four major events:
- Business Quiz – “Know Bharat, Know Business”
- Elocution – “India Speaks 2047”
- Poster Making – “Design India 2047”
- Group Discussion – “Future Under Debate”
Students participated from Narmada College of Management (NCM), Narmada College of Science and Commerce (NCSC), Deepjyoti College Bharuch, and Government Engineering College, Bharuch.
Inaugural Ceremony
The programme commenced with a prayer, creating a positive and purposeful beginning to the event.
Following the prayer, students introduced and explained the central theme of the event, “Bharat 2047,” and highlighted its significance in understanding India’s future and development.
The I/C Director, Dr. Chetna Makwana Ma’am, addressed the gathering and informed the participants about FLAIR 2026, its objectives and the purpose behind organizing the competition.
The invited judge, Dr. Nirav Shah, HOD of B.Com, was then introduced and invited to address the participants. He explained the importance of participating in such competitions and how activities beyond the classroom can contribute to students’ professional and career development. He emphasized the development of communication, confidence, analytical thinking, teamwork and presentation skills through participation.
A total of six judges were appointed for the four competitions, with two judges for each event. One judge for each event was invited from Narmada College of Science and Commerce (NCSC) and one judge was from Narmada College of Management (NCM).
Each judge was formally welcomed with a bouquet in the presence of the respective faculty members and staff.
The inauguration commenced at 10:30 a.m. and concluded at approximately 10:50 a.m.
Details of Competitions
All four competitions commenced simultaneously at 11:00 a.m. at different venues within the Narmada College of Management campus.
Business Quiz – “Know Bharat, Know Business”
The Business Quiz was designed to assess students’ knowledge and awareness of Indian business, economy, entrepreneurship, companies, brands, startups and future technologies.

The quiz encouraged students to apply their general knowledge and business awareness in a competitive environment while developing quick thinking and decision-making abilities.
Elocution – “India Speaks 2047”
The Elocution competition provided participants with an opportunity to express their views on important issues concerning India’s future.

“Can India Become Developed Without Becoming Environmentally Destructive?”
“From Ancient Wisdom to Artificial Intelligence: India’s Unique Path to Development”

Classroom 1, Narmada College of Management
The event focused on public speaking, clarity of thought, confidence, articulation, presentation and the ability to present arguments effectively.
Poster Making – “Design India 2047”
The Poster Making competition encouraged students to communicate their vision for India’s future through creativity and visual design.

“Smart Villages, Strong India”
“Ancient Wisdom × Future Technology”
Venue
Rooms 2 and 3 and Syndicate Room, Narmada College of Management
Participants used creative visual communication to represent their ideas concerning sustainability, rural development, technology and India’s future.
Group Discussion – “Future Under Debate”
The Group Discussion competition encouraged participants to analyse contemporary issues, exchange ideas and develop logical arguments while listening to and responding to other participants.

“Degrees will become less important than skills by 2047.”
“Traditional businesses will struggle to survive in an AI-driven economy.”
“A cashless and completely digital India is better for society.”
Venue
Amphitheatre, Narmada College of Management
The activity helped participants develop communication, active listening, teamwork, critical thinking, reasoning and leadership skills.

The judges evaluated participants according to the requirements and nature of the respective competitions.
Participation
FLAIR 2026 witnessed enthusiastic participation from 115 students across all four competitions. Students participated from the following institutions:
- Narmada College of Management (NCM)
- Narmada College of Science and Commerce (NCSC)
- Deepjyoti College, Bharuch
- Government Engineering College, Bharuch
The participation of students from different institutions created an opportunity for healthy competition, interaction, knowledge sharing, and exchange of ideas among students from diverse academic backgrounds. The event provided participants with a common platform to showcase their knowledge, creativity, communication skills, and critical thinking
Valedictory Ceremony
The Valedictory Ceremony commenced at approximately 2:00 p.m.
The ceremony included the announcement of the winners and the distribution of medals and certificates. The winners received their awards from the respective judges.
The ceremony also provided an opportunity to acknowledge the efforts of the participants, judges, faculty members and student volunteers who contributed to the successful completion of FLAIR 2026.
At the conclusion of the event, Prof. Smita Nair, HOD – BBA, NCSC, shared her experience with the students and delivered an encouraging message on the importance of participating in academic and co-curricular competitions.
She highlighted how participation in such activities helps students improve their communication, confidence, presentation, teamwork, creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving and leadership skills, which are valuable for both higher education and professional careers.
